After jump-starting his career this year with an acclaimed performance in Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris Pratt may just be the next big Hollywood A-lister. As a result, movie studios left and right are impatiently waiting to cast him. Well, in addition to his role in next year's Jurassic World, Chris Pratt recently scored another superhero role...and it looks AWESOME!
According to Collider, Chris Pratt is currently signed on to the film adaptation of writer A.J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo's graphic novel, Cowboy Ninja Viking. The comic revolves around a group of Dissociative identity disorder patients who are transformed into government agents as part of a top-secret program. When the program falls apart, the patients become hired assassins.
Pratt is set to play the main character, Duncan, a man who posessed the fighting abilities of a cowboy, a ninja and a viking. You may now take a few minutes to compose yourself from all the awesomeness.
In addition to a Cowboy-Ninja-Viking, the comic also features a Army Staff Seargent-Apache Indian-Scottish Highlander, an Amish-Demo Expert-Army Captain, and even a Sniper-Archer-Clothing Designer.
The film has been in development for quite sometime. The script, penned by Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, was deemed "too edgy" for Disney, and has since been picked up by Universal. World War Z director Marc Forester was initially set to direct, but is no longer involved with production.
Source Code producer Mark Gordon and Film360 are currently signed on to produce, and a release date has not yet been set. In the mean time, fans of Chris Pratt can see him next in 2015's Jurassic World and 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
