Square Enix is one of the greatest game developers and publishers in modern gaming. It seems that I'm constantly picking up games with their logo on them. With all of the hype building for Final Fantasy 15, I thought I'd take a look at their greatest moments, or at least my own personal ones.

Be sure to leave comments about which Square Enix title matters to you the most. Are you a fan of their humble beginnings, or their more recent blockbusters? In any case, they have some incredible games on the way. Is anyone else dying to play Kingdom Hearts 3?!!

Square Enix's Best Games!

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Though this game doesn't reach the heights of its two predecessors, I feel that it remains one of Enix's best RPGs. I loved this game as a kid, my playstation 2 must have felt abused with the amount of hours I left it on running this title. In terms of the series, the game did actually maintain that feeling that the other two were lauded for, as opposed to the fourth game!

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen

Released under the Square Enix banner in 2008, this old Enix classic was an absolute blast on the Nintendo DS. Aside from the story, Dragon Quest IV offered a simple battle system, but its gameplay was fun and fair without ever getting old. With witty banter, memorable characters, learnable battle system, and the excellent music of Koichi Sugiyama, Dragon Quest IV is an adventure that should be experienced by all. Oh the nostalgia here!!

This insane little indy game shows Square Enix at their most diverse, particularly when you compare it with their JRPG routes. This awesome little indie game was all about changing the laws of physics. You were able to make everything more massive, less massive, slow down time, screw around with gravity, and much, much more. Never heard of it? I suggest you check out this mad little thing.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I remember the first time that I got this game so very clearly. I was set to go on holiday the day that it came out, though the flight wasn't until late afternoon. I got up early, headed into town, picked up the game and drove back home. For 3 hours or so my mind was blown...and then I had to leave the game alone for over a week. Heartbreaking.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is an exceptional title, one that demonstrate Square Enix's ability to take a much beloved gaming series and do it justice. I still play this game to this day, in between playing the original of course!

Kingdom Hearts 2

One of the defining moments of a childhood. This game took all of the characters I adored as a child and brought all of them into one incredible game for me to explore. The characters, the locations, the music, the emotions, the narrative; you seemingly can't fault this game! Kingdom Hearts 2 remains one of the my favourite titles, and I seriously hope that Square Enix do the series justice once more with Kingdom Hearts 3.

Tomb Raider

The game that explored the dark past of one of video game's most famous characters was one of the best titles of 2013. It was action packed, it was emotional, the gameplay was endless fun and Lara never felt so real. I'd still go pack and grab that bow once again, and that scene where she pulled out both guns and started firing away was actually too cool to handle! Can't wait for their next Tomb Raider game.

Which Final Fantasy?!

Of course, under the title of Square Enix, there haven't been that many amazing Final Fantasy titles. Final Fantasy XI's importance to Square and Square Enix can't be understated. Not only was it their first MMO, but it's also become the most profitable game in the company's history. But then we have Final Fantasy VII, but does this belong on the list seeing as it's not technically a Square Enix title?

I hope that when someone makes a list in the future that the Final Fantasy title they place on a list like this will be Final Fantasy XV. What Final Fantasy game would you put on this list? What's your favourite Square Enix game?!
