While we may not be seeing the iconic Xenomorph any time soon, director Ridley Scott has revealed, in a recent interview, plans to include a fresher form of alien in the upcoming Prometheus sequel.
While speaking with The Australian, Scott calls the completed script for the film really good and fresh. He also says the sequel will be getting away from gods and dragons.
Scott calls his original Big Chap Alien the original dragon. "The alien’s real which is why it’s probably one of the scariest monsters in film history,” Scott says. “So with [Prometheus 2](movie:512281) what I’m trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act.” The Prometheus “baby” alien was, he concedes, “awfully close to the alien” that tormented Sigourney Weaver. His next one promises to be very different.
Interesting, yet, while this new creature will add something different to the Alien universe, we must admit we'd much rather see those nasty Xenomorphs again.
What do you guys think?
