The internet certainly seems to think so! For the past few weeks, we've been given sporadic updates on the trailer for [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](movie:711158); The great John Williams stepped back in to the recording studio to record the score for the trailer on the 15th, and since then, Star Wars fan sites across the board have been speculating and digging for clues on when, exactly, we'll see the trailer debut.

Cue this tweet, from a college student who sat in on a talk lead by Thomas Gordley, the first Assistant Director on Episode 7:

Add this to the long list of rumors that the trailer will premiere with [The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies](movie:512312) (or, at least, within the next few weeks) and this looks pretty official. In fact, the account -- which had over 1,000 tweets and had been around for a while -- was promptly deleted after this tweet was posted, which is more than fishy to me. In spite of that, this tweet was followed by a mention from another attendee:

Fair point! Gormley could have told this absolutely random dude when the trailer will debut, and with the deletion of Reece's account, it's slightly believable (though the conspiracy theorist in me suspects that Reece has only temporarily deleted his account, but that's falling a little too deeply down the rabbit hole for my tastes).

Except, maybe it isn't!

Slashfilm went to bat to debunk the rumor this morning, stating that Disney had "bigger plans" for the debut. Woah, burn!

Wednesday, a very credible sounding rumor began to circulate that the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be attached to The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Well, we’ve heard from a very credible source that, with 100% certainty, the Star Wars 7 trailer won’t debut with Peter Jackson’s latest The Hobbit film. There’s a very strong likelihood it will play with that film but according to the source, Disney has “bigger plans” for the trailer debut than a simple attachment

The site goes on to speculate on where and when the first teaser trailer will debut, citing Disney's TV slate (with [Star Wars Rebels](series:965946) and [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](series:722469) named) and the ongoing effort to improve it's ratings across the board.

It better be!
It better be!

One of the most believable guesses is that, if the trailer doesn't premiere with a film this season, Disney could be planning a Marvel Event-style screening of the trailer (which means, of course, that every e-mail from Disney that hits my inbox is totally whitelisted to the top), where they rent out a major theater (or multiple theaters, as they did with their 17-minute-long Guardians of the Galaxy preview), inviting both fans and members of the press to view the trailer.

While that seems a little over-the-top for just a teaser, it's is obviously not outside of the realm of belief for fans who have followed Disney's marketing efforts in the past.

See you soon, Space Cowboy

UPDATE 11/21: This morning on Reddit, user Crichton252 claimed that the teaser will be released on November 28, 2014 in select theaters. While they did not share any additional information, Crichton252 says they work at a movie theater, and recieved the e-mail as an alert.

Time will tell (hopefully sooner rather than later) when we will see the first teaser trailer for Episode 7, but when we do, you can count on me to be there, ready to report.
