Hideo Kojima, to me, is like the Werner Herzog of video games. The man just has the most incredible imagination and sense of humour, and his world is consistently challenging and engaging. With his next release, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, well on the way, he wants to ensure that in the midst of all the games coming out at the moment, we don't forget about our loveable Japanese director.
So he's been very tactical (lol) about the information that he gives us regarding his new game. We get little hints at what this enormous world will have in store for us, and the latest bit of news is just brilliant!

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Features
Kojima gave us our latest nugget on MGS 5 on Kojima Station and I really do love the sound of it. This game seems to be shaping up beautifully and the amount of content seems like I won't be sleeping for days on end. Especially with all those cut scenes! Aww man those cut scenes, just so good!
As we know, in MGS V we will be given a huge base of operations that we'll be able to move around in and command our troops from. Now it seems like we'll be needing their help in areas that Snake used to be a master of! It appears that following Snake's accident he looses his adept bilingual abilities. Apparently that part of his brain has been effected, but the man can still stealth good. Me like when Snake stealth good.
Therefore, with this ability gone, it's up to the player to decide how much intel they want to gain from their enemies. We will have to acquire soldiers that understand different languages so that our captured enemies can be interrogated. Here's the translated statement:
Not only will you not understand soldiers speaking a foreign language if you don’t have an interpreter at Mother Base who speaks their language, you won’t be able to interrogate them either.
What an excellent idea. Like the level of detail in this game is actually sounding seriously impressive. The game is also following the formula of MGS 3: Snake Eater in so many beautiful ways, which is by far my favourite Metal Gear game. Another piece of recent news was released when players were asking about the animals that we can interact with in the wild.
Kojima said that he was playing the game and watched an enemy be mauled by an animal on his venture. He didn't state what it was, could have been a platypus for all we know. Never do know what that Kojima is gonna do. Though we do know that we'll be able to capture animals in the wild and then release them upon our enemies, instead of it just being a random interaction with the environment.
I am so excited to be thrown into a Metal Gear Solid game again. 2015 can't come fast enough with the likes of The Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid 5 well on the way!
