In the end of Prometheus, we see the Engineer’s chest bursting and a new life-form being born – and alien that looked very similar to the xenomorphs the Alien franchise made famous. Ridley Scott first said that these kind of aliens will not be featured any longer in the Prometheus franchise.
However, just recently, he said that he will try to bring a new kind of xenomorph to the big screens. To quote him exactly, he said, “So with [Prometheus 2](movie:512281) what I’m trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act.”
But the question is – wouldn’t this be like changing the main actor mid-franchise? Furthermore, given the fact that the xenomorph is one of the most iconic creatures brought on the silver screen, does it need to be freshened up? We don’t really think so – even more, right now the idea of a no-xenomorph Prometheus sequel sounds better than before.
