In a recent interview with the TV Guide, The Walking Dead tough man, Norman Reedus a.k.a. Daryl Dixon revealed that he was so worried about his emotions getting the better of him, that he cried himself out before they filmed a particular scene for next week's mid-season finale.
Daryl will likely have a lot of screen time in the upcoming episode, not just because he's the shows resident heartthrob, but because the lives of his two best friends, Carol and Beth, hang in the balance.
But while you might be expecting Dixon to storm in like in the Season 4 mid-season finale and do something like this:
He might look a little more like this:
In order to make sure he was adequately prepared for the challenge of filming, the actor told TV Guide that he cried for a full hour in preparation:
I sat on an apple box with my head between my legs and just bawled for an hour. I really wanted to not tear up during the scene, I wanted to be like I wasted every tear in my body before we started shooting so I just sat there and cried and cried and cried.
Aw! Talk about your sensitive, new-age, walker killer!
Though Reedus's reason for crying was not revealed, viewers know that there's a very real possibility that this could be the end for either Carol or Beth, and his emotional reaction to the scene seems to point to one of these characters reaching the end of the line.
Whose head exactly might be up for the chop is anyone's guess, but come Sunday night it will all be revealed in what Robert Kirkman has called a 'pretty deadly' season finale. I can't wait!
