Variety is reporting that upcoming "Star Wars The Force Awakens" star Oscar Isaac has been cast in Bryan Singer's "X-Men Apocalypse" as the villain 'Apocalypse'.

Few actors have been rumored to play the role including the likes of Tom Hardy but Oscar Isaac seems to be locked in.

Bryan Singer has described the sequel to "Days Of Future Past" as the most destructive movie in the franchise.

“‘Apocalypse’ will have more of the mass destruction that ‘X-Men’ films, to date, have not relied upon,” he recently said. “There’s definitely now a character and a story that allow room for that kind of spectacle.”

The most recent X-Men film, "Days Of Future Past", is one of the years biggest movies with $745 Million worldwide, the sequel is hoping to be bigger, better and even more successful.

Singer has been meeting up with actors for the past few weeks but sources say that Oscar Isaac was the type of actor Singer wanted from the beginning.

Isaac has a big year ahead with possible Academy Award potential film "A Most Violent Year" and is featured in the lead cast in the biggest film of 2014: "Star Wars The Force Awakens".

Apocalypse is the most menacing and deadly foe the X-Men have ever faced. En Sabah Nur (His real name) is the first mutant ever on record and considers himself to be a god.

Production on the comic book epic will begin early 2015 and is set to hit theaters on May 27th 2016!
