Bethesda has been notoriously quiet for years about the release we all desire word of, Fallout 4. This silence is breaking many of us, as if having to deal with Valve's silence on Half-Life 3 wasn't bad enough! But now, after such a long time, we've heard Fallout mentioned by Bethesda and it has given many of us a spark of hope!

Fallout 4 News from Bethesda?!

The news comes in both legal and twitter form! It seems that Bethesda is ensuring that they hang onto the rights of one of their most signature items. Bethesda has filed for trademark for its Pip Boy device, at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

We all know and love the Pip Boy well, and we also understand how fundamental its presence is within the Fallout universe. Therefore, what can we insinuate from this move on Bethesda's behalf? Are they filing for trademark so that they can continue the series without any issue now as Fallout 4 goes underway?

Check out this article too - Half-Life 3 Will Not be a Single-player Game!

The company said in a tweet (that is just so poorly written, capital letters please!!) that this is "Not a hoax. our filing. just protecting our trademark. also helps in dealing with infringement stuff."

Could this be that Bethesda is preparing for an announcement? What game is it? Obviously we all hope and pray that it's going to be Fallout, and these two pieces of news aren't just coincidence. Below is the conversation that took place on Twitter that raises the speculation on a new announcement from Bethesda. Will it be Fallout 4?

LovelyClam wrote the following to Bethesda employee Pete Hines: 'please could you answer if the announcement of the new game Bethesda is working on is still a long time away?' The response: 'I'm not going to give a timeframe.' LovelyClam: 'saying 'soon' or 'a long way away' would suffice lol, thanks for responding.' Response: 'I've been asked not to give any context or specifics so I'm not going to.'

I don't know whether it's just the Fallout 4 drive within me talking, but this guy knows some details that we all want to know about this franchise!

Fallout 4 at VGX 2014

Players always have a feeling about the next game convention that's coming with regards to a Fallout 4 announcement. But there has been some exciting news about this particular event for months now! Could this be the one?

Geoff Keighley, host of GameTrailersTV and, more relevantly, the executive producer of VGX (formerly known as the Spike TV Video Game Awards Show), stated that he had a “great night planning with the ladies who run Bethesda,” hinting at the possibility of a major game announcement – possibly Fallout 4 – at this year’s VGX.

If Fallout 4 were to be revealed at VGX 2014, it would fit right in line with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim‘s pre-release schedule, which was officially announced at the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards (now VGX), followed by gameplay reveal at E3 2011, with a release date of November 2011.

Fallout 4's pre-release schedule would be similar if is announced at this year's VGX, with a gameplay reveal at E3 2015, culminating in a launch date of November 2015. I'm obviously getting ahead of myself here, but a man can dream!

What do you guys think about Bethesda's actions around Fallout 4? Let us know in the comments if you think we'll see the game rear its head at VGX 2014!
