Just a couple of days ago I posted that the Arrow/Flash crossover was getting a screening at the big screen, and was rolling in envy. Now, we have our first full look at Part One, complete with the (nearly full) both teams. Part Two will see the fight against Captain Boomerang, which isn't teased in this trailer - but the good news is both are just one week away!
Given that I'm still swimming in hype, I figure I'll vent some of that in a breakdown. What do we see in this trailer?
A proper look at Oliver's Arrow gear
It seems weird, given we're three seasons into the show, that so much of Oliver's Arrow gear hasn't been illuminated - and I mean that literally. Given the tonal differences of the shows, we actually don't see that much of the Arrow's equipment clearly, as he mostly uses it at night; furthering that, we've only really seen him roll out some increasingly awesome trick arrows recently. Here, we see a couple of things:
Our first look at Chroma- and his powers
I admit, when I saw the announcement Rainbow Raider, a.k.a. Roy Bivolo, a.k.a. Chroma, would be the main villain for the first part of the crossover, I had a giggle. But, not only does he allow for Arrow and Flash to fight by controlling their emotions in line with their powers, it's something of a masterful move to even further contrast the tones of both shows.
Not a big one, as we know that Oliver will be getting "suit upgrades" likely bigger than this at some point, and the Flash's costume is already changing. But we can see new canisters of some sort tied to Ollie's quiver strap.
Is that Thea?
We know she's in the crossover, but I thought she might only be in the second part - perhaps there's some footage from Part Two included... or maybe she'll peak in a bit more.
This is probably just extrapolation, but that dialogue reminds me of how the typical internet Marvel vs. DC, Batman vs.Superman, etc. debates start. I wouldn't be surprised if each 'team' routes for their respective hero, and it would provide a bit of fun for sure.
