I find that in a show, that creates a gritty outline and atmosphere, it has no trouble directing the characters in such a way, to give it all a breath of fresh air.
With that being said, I feel as though it can be silly and unnecessary at some points. Characters that don't need to be there, just show up, but they aren't used for another season. So what's the point?
The main reason I give this show a decent rating is because of the acting talent that it possesses. They brought in Paul Wesley who portrayed Arron Corbett in the ABC Family miniseries, "Fallen." He is quite heavily critiqued, with many people saying he's boring, or he doesn't fill the shoes of Stefan Salvatore. My opinion is, he's excellent. He has amazing line delivery and blocking. I read the books as well, and he is perfect for Stefan. And Ian Somerhalder, need I go any further on him?
To sum up this review, The Vampire Diaries is a decent show, so check it out on Netflix. Thank you for reading! :D
