If you are reading this chances are you're excited for the upcoming sequels to the 2009 sci-fi epic and box office champion. But I'm willing to bet you aren't as excited as the director himself, James Cameron. In an interview with Empire, he comes out of his New Zealand-induced shell to tell waiting fans

“I can tell you one thing about them: They’re gonna be bitchin’. You will shit yourself with your mouth wide open.”

Yep, I didn't really believe those words came from Cameron at first, but alas, he has us all beating in terms of excitement. Which is a good sign, a passionate director is a good one, and how can't you be passionate about something you've spent upwards of a decade on and growing.

Further on he comments on the writing of the story with his squad of co-writers. He gives us insight into the process of writing with all of them together, saying:

“I think we met for seven months and we whiteboarded out every scene in every film together, and I didn’t assign each writer which film they were going to work on until the last day. I knew if I assigned them their scripts ahead of time, they’d tune out every time we were talking about the other movie.”

Later Cameron spoke about his relationship with Peter Jackson and his crew of writers/producers, whom he has become associates with through working in New Zealand. They even played a role in Avatar;

“When Neytiri is holding Jake and she’s just brought him back to consciousness, the 'I see you' line was suggested by them. It might have been Peter who said that.”

In other Avatar news, he has decided to go with 48 frames-per-second instead of 60fps, commenting:

“My thinking at the time was that 60 [FPS] might be a better segue to the video market. I’ll be plugging into a system that’s a little more mature, so it makes sense for me to do 48 frames at this point.”

On a scale of 1 to James Cameron, how excited are you for the Avatar sequels?
