For a remake, 2002's The Ring did a pretty great job of recreating the paralyzing terror of Hideo Nakata's earlier Ring. In particular, the character Samara - who is named Sadako in the Japanese original - manages to convey the deep tragedy of the story.

With this in mind, it's sad that NECA never released the awesomely cool Samara figure that they designed: the product was ready, but NECA couldn't obtain a license to use the character from DreamWorks.

At least we get to see what she would have been...

FYI, the Samara figure would have had 'flexible hair,' whatever that means... Would you have bought one of these creepy li'l girl dolls?
