Let's face it, our beloved Capcom hasn't really been impressing us like they used to in recent memory. They've still left a bad taste in our mouths from Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. This publisher needs a hit and it needs one quick! But in order for it to succeed, I feel like Capcom needs to move away from the franchise its been repeatedly making games for.

Of course we all love Resident Evil, and I'm naturally looking forward to playing Resident Evil HD next year on the Xbox One and PS4. But rather than seeing them continue to degrade a great name, we'd love to see something new from a developer that brought us the likes of Devil May Cry, Okami, Onimusha and Asura's Wrath!

What's Capcom Planning for the PS4?

Resident Evil 5 Producer Jun Takeuchi has teased in the latest issue of Famitsu that he enjoys playing the console and enjoys developing a new project on it as well. He loves the system that Sony has given us and wants to create a game that is worthy of its design. He stated that his team is hard at work with regards to unlocking the console's true potential.

Of course. Right now, we’re seeing how far we can push the game engine. You’ll be surprised by the quality of the games we’re working on right now. I think we’ll be able to announce it soon, so please look forward to it. I realize that’s obnoxious (laughs). It’s gonna be something that will even turn heads overseas.

As of late, we've been receiving shells of Capcom's former glories. Their titles have been spread out among different studios and the game's only represent their franchises in name alone. It'll take some serious work and a lot of great names in their company to return to the Devil May Cry, Okami and Resident Evil 4 days. Though I have to say that I throughly enjoyed Asura's Wrath, an absolute mad blast of a game!

So the question remains...What is this new title that Capcom is working on that will make us focus on the company again? What would you like it to be? For myself, rather than having a Resident Evil 7, I'd love to see a TRUE Devil May Cry 5, or even a return of the Onimusha games. Or perhaps they should just give us something new and different like Asura's Wrath?

So, will we be hearing something from Capcom at the VGA 2014 awards? Or maybe they're developing a PS4 exclusive which could be showcased at the Playstation Experience! Let us know in the comments what you'd like to see Capcom develop in the future and what game you think is their best!
