When it comes to tattoos, it's no surprise that there are thousands of amazing Star Wars pieces out there (in a galaxy far far...wait). With the new trilogy inching ever closer to our screens (and the trailer for The Force Awakens already on them), I'm sure that many more fans will be heading to tattoo shops to announce their fandom love on their skin. Above we have what appears to be the first such example of this, featuring the new spherically powered droid seen in the trailer.
Now, there are lots of the classics: incredibly detailed portraits, beautiful full color sleeves, and I'm including one or two of those as well, but my personal favorites are the ones that aren't just skillfully executed; I love the ones that are mash ups, new takes, generally fun and interesting variations on the usual themes, so those are the ones that I've tried to feature here.
Starting us off:
The portrait master Nikko Hurtado and his incredible rendering of Boba Fett
This adorable (and completely out of the box) Pika-R2D2
Some more cuteness from the newer trilogy: Hello Maul
Adorable Calvin and Hobbes Han and Chewie
This particularly vixen-y Leia
And this gloriously tattooed one!
These two Lego-inspired pieces (stunning in very different ways)
Some more portrait goodness
A Stormtrooper in a storm..
The two sides of the force
Some fairly epic old-school Star Wars style flash
These (surprisingly common) finger-sabers...
And finally, Princess Pug. Because apparently anything can become a pug tattoo.
