To avoid fainting, keep repeating 'It's only a movie...It's only a movie...'

When you think of portrait photography, you tend to think of cheery, family-friendly stuff: prom photos, pictures of the kids to send to Grandma.

That all changes when you're dealing with a horror photographer, especially one as talented and imaginative as Danielle Tunstall. Her portraits are sometimes freaky, sometimes disturbing, but always incredibly creative, using make-up and post-processing to produce a truly memorable horror portrait.

Check out some of her finest work...

1. The Bloody Teeth

Wow, man. This is just intense!

---------------------------------------------------------

2. The Gun

With just one photo, she conjures up the craziness of an entire zombie movie.

---------------------------------------------------------

3. Girl in the Woods

This is like that jump-scare moment in a horror movie you try to look away from but always gets you...

---------------------------------------------------------

4. Smoking Geisha Girl

You'd think blood would be less freaky in black and white. You'd be wrong.

---------------------------------------------------------

5. Lethal Beats

I'll have what he's having.

---------------------------------------------------------

6. Girl with a Gun

Yup, this chick can definitely handle herself.

---------------------------------------------------------

7. Decay

Don't pick at it, bro, you'll only make it worse.

---------------------------------------------------------

8. The Black-Eyed Girl

This seriously reminds me of the freaky urban legend of the black-eyed children...

---------------------------------------------------------

9. Eye Sockets

The grey texture of the skin is amazing, it makes me think of the different fantastical skin tones we saw in Guardians of the Galaxy.

---------------------------------------------------------

10. Exploding Skull

The careful embellishments to Danielle Tunstall's shots make it difficult to tell if we're looking at a photograph or a photo-realistic drawing.

---------------------------------------------------------

11. The Clown

Because, as we all know, clowns are utterly evil and terrifying.

---------------------------------------------------------

12. Tears of Blood

Move it along, just a freaky clown-child weeping tears of blood, nothing to see here...

---------------------------------------------------------

13. Rage

I would not like to meet this guy on a dark night. Also, he kind of looks like Merle from The Walking Dead, amirite?
