With still no news from Bethesda (though we like to think that the VGA Awards will be the day we've all been waiting for!) fans have had to resort to their own ideas of what Bethesda could have in the fourth instalment of this remarkable franchise!

At this stage, I feel we'd all be happy with a teaser trailer that just had the title come up and then fade to black. That's sufficient news. But there are a great deal of things we believe Fallout 4 should have before it's released. If Fallout 4 was something I could put on my Christmas list, it would look something like this! Let me know if this is a Christmas present you'd like or whether you'd change things.

Fallout 4 - What I Want!

First off...well I want Fallout 4 to happen! That's the obvious one. But in order for this world to rival the one we were presented with in Fallout 3, Bethesda are going to have to raise the bar a fair bit to compete with their own Skyrim and so many other advancements in the industry. It'd be wonderful to see a great engine behind Fallout 4 for starters.

In terms of setting, we had an interesting discussion going on over the weekend! Two of the developers of the original Fallout game were on Reddit for a little while talking to fans about Fallout's future. They were asked where they'd like the next game to be set. We had Russia and then finally Florida settled upon. "Alligators...swamp hillbilly raiders on fan-boats!"

It's an intriguing idea...I can't really see Florida as the appropriate setting but perhaps it could work. When it comes to setting, I would really love to see the option to travel to different locations. With Boston being the big fan favourite, it'd be interesting to be able to travel from here to the good old Capital Wasteland.

Factions are always a fascinating part of Fallout, though it'd be great to see their role in this world expanded upon. The following may be due to the fact that I'm 60 hours into Dragon Age: Inquisition. It'd be great, as many have said, to join factions in Fallout 4, but then also be able to complete tasks within that faction that allow us to rise up their chain of command, maybe even leading it eventually!

The Dragon Age part comes in with regards to the relationships you could form with those inside this faction. Followers should be able to interact with each other and develop relationships. If there's an online element we should all be able to form our own faction and take on the wasteland under our own banner.

If we added more life to the followers of factions the world would expand in terms of depth. It'd be great to spend time in this world gaining the support of followers. This could all take place in a kind of State of Decay way (yes I've been playing that lately too) as in we could make our own faction and recruit people that we find out in the world. We'll take care of them at our base and they can help with issues we encounter. This would fit into making our own faction which we'd have to make sure we protected.

The world itself should feel more alive (yes I know it's a wasteland), I mean in the sense of how nature interacts with your world. Perhaps at night it becomes deathly cold in certain places and you have to create gear that allows you to traverse it. The environments could be destructible and we can even encounter natural disasters like sand storms and volcanic eruptions.

I feel like, no matter how large the world is, Fallout should be traversed on foot, none of this Rage driving nonsense. But what we would really need for this Bethesda, is a damned sprint button.

One could just go on and on and talk about an extensive upgrade on weapons, explosives, gear, radiation sickness, armour modding and so on. But that's where I'd like to hear you guys come in and have you discuss what you'd like to see in the next Fallout. If Bethesda gifted you Fallout 4 as a Christmas present, what would it look like?
