It's been one of the most talked-about casting-sagas of recent months - and could, if true, be one of the most intriguing pieces of superhero movie casting in years. So, when Jared Leto spoke to THR about a certain superhero part there was only one question on anyone's lips: Have the long-running rumors that he'll play The Joker in Suicide Squad finally been confirmed?
Well, not quite - but they're a heck of a lot closer to it than they were a week ago.
Asked whether he could confirm the rumors, Leto would only tell THR that:
"I've sworn to keep my mouth shut"
Which, on the back his recent semi-cryptic comments about 'not talking about Fight Club,' sure makes it sound a lot like he's in talks to play the part. Otherwise, why not just deny it, and move on to talking about how impressively shiny his hair is?
On top of that, though, THR is also, independently, reporting that Leto - along with potential co-stars Margot Robbit, Tom Hardy and Jai Courtney - is in final negotiations for a role in Suicide Squad.
And you know what that means, right?
Jared Leto might actually, factually, in-real-life-and-everything be playing The Joker in Suicide Squad.
And that only leaves one final question for you guys to answer...
Would Jared Leto make a good Joker?
