Because I, like many of my peers, was indoctrinated into all things Disney at a very young age and thus excluding any other iterations of the character, this is still the image that my mind conjures when picturing Cinderella's evil stepmother.

Her snarl and hair made her more terrifying to me than most of the other Disney villains. She was scary because she was a very real threat. Hello! I know tons of people whose parents are divorced (mine included). What happens if one day this lady waltzes through the door? Terrifying.

What's the only thing worse than having a wicked stepmother? Probably having a matching pair of wicked stepsisters. This is, of course, what they look like in my mind.

But in the new Disney live-action [Cinderella](movie:373064) movie directed by Kenneth Branagh, Cate Blanchett takes on this iconic role of Lady Tremaine, minus the grey hair. This is a case of perfect casting, if you ask me. Maybe I'm a Blanchett fangirl, but I already know she's going to slay the role. Seriously, the trailer alone was enough to sway me. The woman is just fierce. Don't believe me? Just take a look at the latest poster.

Alongside her stands Cinderella's stepsisters, Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drizella (Sophie McShera), respectively. Terrible names to match the terrible sisters, right?

Okay, they look awful in a good way. Or do they look good in an awful way? In any case, the combination of the hats, the hair, the heavily embroidered dresses, those tightly pursed lips is perfect. These women seriously give me the heebie jeebies.

The movie also stars Lily James in the title role, [Game of Thrones](movie:817617)' Richard Madden as Prince Charming, and the incomparable Helena Bonham Carter (Alice in Wonderland, Fight Club) as Cinderella's Fairy Godmother.

After seeing [Maleficent](movie:39352), I'm pretty excited to get back into the darker live-action versions of animated Disney classics. This movie particularly looks awesome. Bring it on, Lady Tremaine! If you haven't already, be sure to watch the trailer below to see Cate in all of her wicked excellence.

[Cinderella](movie:373064) will be in theaters starting March 13.
