It's been 12 years since Arnold Schwarzenegger donned the Terminator get-up in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. In 2009, fans were disappointed to see a digital re-creation of him in Terminator: Salvation, a film widely considered to be sub-par. Well today, the time has finally come to see the Terminator truly come back.
Here is the trailer in all its glory:
Wow...That's one hell of a trailer. John Connor is leading the resistance with a force to be reckoned with, and Arnie looks more badass than ever. Looks like Judgement Day has a good chance of being cancelled.
According to IMDB, the plot of the film goes as followed:
The year is 2029. John Connor, leader of the resistance continues the war against the machines. At the Los Angeles offensive, John's fears of the unknown future begin to emerge when TECOM spies reveal a new plot by SkyNet that will attack him from both fronts; past and future, and will ultimately change warfare forever.
So it's clear that SkyNet is back with a bang, and will prove to be more challenging to defeat than ever. The resistance is sure to face its biggest battle yet, and it will all be shown for our viewing pleasure.
Along with the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger, newcomers to the cast include Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Divergent's Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' Jason Clarke as John Connor himself. The supporting cast will feature J.K. Simmons (Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy), Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe Retaliation, Red 2), and Matt Smith (Doctor Who)bin unspecified roles.
The film is set for release on July 1, 2015. Mark your calendars, die-hards; this is one date you don't want to miss.
