For so many years, fans have lived in turmoil in waiting for a list of games that may never come to fruition. Fallout 4 and especially Half-Life 3, are the two leading examples of games we want news or a release date for! We live in constant flux as the kind of games we imagine are almost always superior to the ones that we receive. Valve and Bethesda though represent two companies that have continued to exceed expectations.

Fallout 3 is one of the most respected games of the 21st Century and Half-Life 2 is not only the greatest FPS of all time, it's one of the best games we've had the experience of playing. Naturally, we want to return to these worlds, but is it about time that we gave up on hoping for them to arrive on the PC, Xbox One or PS4?

Fallout 4 & Half-Life 3 - Give Up?

We've waited for Half-Life 3 or any form of continuation to the conclusion of Half-Life 2 Episode 2 for over 7 years. Fallout 4 has been a game we've waited for, for only one year less than Half-Life 3 (they both come out in October, 2007 (HL) and 2008(Fallout)). It makes me see how quickly time passes as Fallout 3 felt like it came out quite recently...

Valve and Bethesda seem to both be challenging one another with regards to seeing who can remain silent about their respective sequels the longest. God, can you imagine if they were both in league with one another and planned to unveil both of these titles at the same time?? See...this is what Fallout 4 and Half-Life 3 does to us!

Wouldn't we have more concrete information about these titles if they were in fact in existence? It seems like we'd have more to go on than just speculation and rumours. Thankfully, these are two studios with equal reputations for perfection. They are hardly going to release an unfinished product, and we love them for that (looking at you Ubisoft)!

Therefore, no amount of fan pressure is likely to persuade them to make a game, if anything, they seem to be more annoyed by our constant pleading (but we waaaant it). But the fact remains that gamers are desperately seeking for excellent games for the PCs, Xbox One or PS4 consoles. We haven't been getting anything that fantastic as of late...

We know that every time Valve or Bethesda contribute to the gaming world, we are all impressed and disappear into our gaming caves for days on end. We long for these experiences, but maybe we need to let go of these two titles. Our expectations for the future of gaming is almost in their hands, and perhaps we should embrace new IPs rather than continuous entries into franchises.

Though perhaps we need something to look forward to, but what's the point if these titles are never going to be released? This is such an article of despair! The PS4 and Xbox One consoles haver been such a disappointment so far, with neither one giving us a game that has heralded the arrival of NextGen.

What are your thoughts gamers? Do you think we'll ever see Half-Life 3 or Fallout 4? Are they too big for studios to leave out, and if so, will they be pressured to make them eventually? I feel like they will never live up to our expectations, and maybe that's why they haven't been made. Both studios haven't come up with an idea that they can get behind and that they feel will blow us away.

Sound off in the comments gamers!
