The Signature Barton "Wavy" Frame
“The 'Wavy' Frame enhances the sense of movement in the paintings by extending the wavelike feel of the scene to the frame itself.”
The painting and frame come together to form one unit, and as you view the scene from different angles, the natural shadow lines change the tone of the scene. This show will be a great opportunity to appreciate the full impact of this unique feature of his work in person.

About the Artist
Although Steve Barton’s work is now displayed in more than 35 galleries in over a dozen states, he started out as a local California artist capturing colorful coastal scenes from La Jolla to Carmel. These bright scenes are still the center piece of his work, complimented by his signature “Wavy” frame – a concept created by Steve in 1999 to extend the wavelike feel of the scene to the frame itself.
While capturing the cabins and villas of life on the beach remains his painting way of life, Barton has traveled the globe donating his time doing painting demonstrations for students. He has even shared advice on setting life goals and painting with students in Russia. At home, Barton enjoys the freedom of spending afternoons with his wife, Deborah and his three dogs.
