The pilots in the skies of the United States know that (for safety reasons) there are places on which are prohibited from flying as the White House, the Capitol, the Pentagon and the Disney parks.
And the airspace of Disney entertainment complex in California and Florida is considered a zone of temporary flight restrictions .
This designation also applies , for example, the airspaces of the places that are held major sporting events like the stadiums where games of the NFL.
But while in the case of meetings NFL prohibition is limited to the times in which these events are being developed in the Disney parks ban has been in effect since 2003 continuously 24 hours a day.
Some say that at first glance, it is obvious that Disneyland and Disney World, as representatives of the essence of American culture , could be the target of attacks such as those in New York and Washington on September 11, 2001 .
Nevertheless, the airspaces of other amusement parks also receive thousands of people daily, such as Universal Studios, do not apply the same restrictions.
And from the associations representing pilots who are dedicated to making aerial advertising , say the no-fly on the properties of Disney is not based on a safety issue, but in the desire of the company that visitors to their parks not see their advertisements.
Usually areas temporary restraining flights are designated by the Federal Aviation Administration US (FAA).
But in the case of the Disney parks was not, as air restrictions were introduced without much publicity in a budget bill passed by the US Congress in early 2003 .
The Los Angeles Times claimed in a recent article that defense officials and terrorism experts from the US government had not asked for the appointment , which would have been taken at the request of lobbyists that Disney has in Washington.
Ian Gregor , FAA spokeswoman , explained to BBC News that , contrary to what is usual , was not the organization that ordered the ban on flying over the Disney parks .
According to Gregor , the FAA only is responsible for taking action against drivers who violate that airspace.
And what about Disney ?
Restrictions which cover a radius of about five kilometers- justified for security reasons.
We believe that airspace restrictions on places where there are large concentrations of people such as sports stadiums or our parks continue to have meaning to improve public safety.
Killian declined to comment on the arguments of the pilots of advertising and the fact that other amusement parks do not have restrictions on their airspaces planes.
Against the advertising
From the Association of Aircraft Owners and Pilots US ( AOPA) have asked the authorities several times to lift restrictions as air hanging over the Disney parks or some sporting events.
They say they are damaging their business, forcing the closure of dozens of companies engaged in aerial advertising , noting that Disney was pushing in Washington for the airspace of its parks to commercial aircraft will close even before attacks 2001 .
According to him a representative of the AOPA , the association is concerned flight bans have not been imposed by the FAA because they believe not responding to security issues told BBC .
In 2003 a Christian group called Family Policy Network ( Family Policy Network ) , filed a lawsuit against the US government calling for restrictions on the Disney parks were lifted.
Claimed that a plane fly over Disney World in Orlando (Florida ) holding a sign with a message of "salvation" for homosexuals during a weekend that was held a meeting of gays.
Lawyers for the organization said that the restricted airspace on Disney entertainment complex was not justified by a safety issue because a plane could enter it in minutes without being intercepted .
Meanwhile, the lawyers of the American administration responded by arguing that terrorists could launch attacks from the sky , for example , bombs or chemical or biological agents.
Finally, the trial judge decided to dismiss the complaint .
Security experts believe it would be difficult to avoid an attack with a plane into Disneyland or Disney World, but consider that the areas of temporary flight restrictions have a deterrent effect.
For now, the skies of the Disney parks will remain free aircraft ... and publicity .
