Godzilla! The beast cometh. A monstrous title is coming exclusively to Playstation 3 and 4. Check out this teaser trailer below!

Godzilla on PS4: The Skinny

Little is known so far upon the true details of this potentially epic game. What we do know is that this title was originally set for PS3 release only but as of last Friday it has now been announced that [Godzilla](movie:45291) the game will release on PS4.

The story is said to be loosely based on the original 1954 movie. [Godzilla ](movie:425213) is a prehistoric monster resurrected by repeated nuclear tests in the Pacific, who ravages Japan and reignites the horrors of nuclear devastation to the very nation that experienced it first-hand.

Ships in the South Pacific start disappearing with only cryptic radio messages about horrible flames. The few sailors found alive are sick and quickly die after telling obviously fever-induced stories. Then the Japanese investigate stories from an outlying island and see something they never dreamed could have existed. Godzilla!

"Dr. Ichiro Serizawa: In 1954, the first time that a nuclear submarine ever reached the lower depths, it awakened something...
Vivienne Graham: The Americans first thought that it was the Russians. The Russians thought that it was them. All those nuclear tests in the 50s? Not tests.
Dr. Ichiro Serizawa: They were trying to kill it."

According to 'anime news network' Players will be able to control both the classic TOHO version of the monster and the 2014 American film Godzilla in the game. The game will also feature the Type 92 Maser tanks, Super X 2, Super X III, Super Mecha Godzilla, and MFS-3 — as well as Godzilla's rivals: King Ghidorah, Biollante, Mothra, Mecha Godzilla, Jet Jaguar, Hedorah, and Destoroyah.

The "ultra-destructive Godzilla action" game commemorates the 60th anniversary of the titular monster by letting you play the monster itself against human civilization, as you clear missions by destroying buildings and weapons. The game recreates the camera angles that invoke the sense of scale, the fireworks explosions, and the latest techniques from the original Tokusatsu (special effects) films.

Game modes will include 20 different missions filled with city-crushing mayhem, "Diorama Mode" that will allow players to "place Godzilla in different settings to capture epic photos," and a "King of Monsters Mode" that will see the green titan fight his way through the franchises most memorable enemies.

Godzilla will be releasing on PS3 and PS4 in 2015. Much more to come. Stay tuned for more. Follow us to keep up to date with all the latest gaming news. Will you be getting involved in Godzilla?
