Final Fantasy VII is one of the most beloved games of all time, and rightly so. Squaresoft's revered role-playing game was released in 1997 to near-universal critical acclaim, and is still considered by many to be one of the greatest games of all time. It's fitting then that a group of die-hard fans did something extraordinarily special in honor of its 15th birthday!

There are so many memorable moments in Cloud's epic adventure, I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite. It turns out that Loony BoB and his band of talented artists couldn't pick one either - so they just drew them all!

The project took over four months to complete, with the generous help of over 100 artists. Loony BoB explains how it came about:

When the wonderful staff I work with at Eyes on Final Fantasy asked what we should do for our 15th anniversary, a few ideas were tossed around and I mentioned that we could get our much-loved artists the DeviantArt group involved. After mentioning examples of what we could do, the idea of a complete Final Fantasy story—told through artwork—sprang to mind. I never expected anything this big.

Here are just a few choice picks from the expansive collection:

Cloud Stands Outside Midgar

Sephiroth Burns Nibelheim

Diamond Weapon Prepares for Attack

The group put together an hour long video showcasing all the stunning artwork, which you can watch in full below:

Congratulations to all the artists for doing justice to Squaresoft's classic title. I can't wait to see what they do for its 20th birthday!
