You may know Christopher Lee from his countless roles in many well-known films (over 300); from the cunning Saruman to the brilliant depiction of Dracula. You may however, not know that at 92, he has followed on from his metal album released earlier this year.
Today, fans of his work and the heavy metal genre, are once again treated to extraordinary talent from Lee. In preparation for the festive season, Lee has released a very special holiday song, “Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing." Last year's heavy metal christmas carol, "Jingle Hell" topped charts making him the oldest musician to ever chart. The single, "Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing" is his take on "Hark! The herald angel's sing!"
"It's light-hearted, joyful and fun. It's a band singing on how metal should be played, the effect it has on the band and its listeners." - Christopher Lee
Christopher Lee's first venture into Christmas Metal" began with "A Heavy Metal Christmas" (2012) followed by "Charlemagne: The Omens of Death." As Treebeard would have said;
"There was a time where Saruman would walk in my woods, but now he has a mind of metal."
Christopher Lee remains an inspiration to many. You can see him in the latest Hobbit movie releasing internationally on the 11th.
"At my age, the most important thing for me is to keep active by doing things that I truly enjoy. I do not know how long I am going to be around, so every day is a celebration and I want to share it with my fans,"
