Kingdom Hearts 3 is a while away from receiving a release date for our Xbox One and PS4 consoles, but there are a lot of things we're asking Square Enix for in the mean time!
I'm just off the back of watching fan reactions to the unveiling of Kingdom Hearts 3 at E3 earlier this year, and it truly is remarkable the effect this series has on fans. It is completely and utterly adored. That's why I thought I'd use a fan image of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance in the title of the article, to commemorate their appreciation for this series. Check out the fan reactions below!
I mean Square Enix's announcement literally had people crying over the unveiling of this title! It's particularly great because nearly all of them believed it to be the demonstration of Kingdom Hearts 2.5, but then they see Kingdom Hearts III come up on the screen and they lose it.
There is a lot of expectations for this series, and I'm sure it's under a tremendous degree of pressure to succeed, I mean they adopted Unreal Engine 4 into the design of the title in order for all of their desires to come to fruition. But there are a lot of things we want to see in this game too, from new worlds and Disney characters, to changes in gameplay. But is multiple playable characters one of them?
Multiple Playable Characters in Kingdom Hearts 3!
This is a serious trend that's being exhibited in games as of late, with the likes of GTA V Remastered and Dragon Age: Inquisition being released last November. I think developers are realising that the ability to play as different characters increases the appeal of games and the replay value along with it. But would this development suit Kingdom Hearts 3?
Obviously this wouldn't extend to a lot of different characters, but it could be like GTA V in that we could have 3 playable protagonists, but more so in the sense of Dragon Age: Inquisition as Sora will remain the protagonist of the game.
So, that means that it would extend to Donald and Goofy, allowing us to change whenever we like in combat and play as our beloved Disney characters. But what would this mean for combat? Would it be weird to play a Kingdom Hearts game without a Keyblade in hand?

Square Enix would have to ensure that the combat system for Goofy and Donald would be as enjoyable as Sora's, but also demonstrate some key differences (pun lol) that would make us want to play as them. So what do you think? Would you like to play as Goofy and Donald too in Kingdom Hearts 3?!
