Joker was a huge in The Dark Knight but can Harley be as successful in [Suicide Squad](movie:2283363)?

Harley Quinn has been one of my favorite villains when it comes to the Batman universe. I mean, I literally grew up watching her on TV when she first debuted on Batman the Animated Series (Yes folks, she was an animated cartoon before she was a comic book character! As an animator I love that fact!). Ever since then she has moved to comics, video games and other TV shows.

Now Harley is making her way to the big screen as one of the members of the Suicide Squad (played by Margot Robbie). I am beyond excited for this film because its going to be the first all villain movie - featuring Ms. Harley Quinn. With that in mind, I wanted to give my psyche evaluation on Harley Quinn.

Harley Quinn is a Smart Woman...

Remember before she became Harley Quinn, she was Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a highly educated psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum? Even though she went crazy with love for Mr. J, I hope the writers will show glimmers of her brilliance when she is on missions with the Suicide Squad.

She uses her smarts to pull men close before she strikes. Able to create contraptions that will bring a lot of hurt to whoever she faces. She even was able to capture Batman without the help of the Joker or her friend Poison Ivy in Batman the Animated Series. She is very capable of figuring stuff on her own.

...Though She Can be a Bit Love Crazy at Times.

One kiss and she's hooked
One kiss and she's hooked

Harley does sometimes get a bit too lovey dovey whenever the Joker is around. She truly loves her man... Almost to the point of being possessive and will do anything to protect him. So definitely expect her to do some crazy things to try and impress Mr. J. However if the Joker does something to piss Harley off.....

Expect a Lot of Infighting with Joker and Harley.

Lovers Quarrel
Lovers Quarrel

It's really a love hate relationship. Though it can be abusive, Harley Quinn definitely isn't a pushover and is never seen as a victim. She has used her smarts to get back at her love and scare the living daylights out of him. At the end of the day, Harley gets the last laugh.

Harley is Playful With Her Victims... But Not in a Sexual Manner.

Granted, there has been a few moments where Harley uses her girl charms to get her way, although they aren't really sexual in nature. It's more of a playful young girl nature, completely opposite of her life as a psychiatrist. Showing off her innocence to get sympathy with a guard only to be ambushed later. She uses her charm to get what she needs at that moment. Expect her to have fun while she is committing a crime.

Hopes With Her Role in Suicide Squad.

I hope that the movie doesn't make Harley into a sexual object like most superhero films (sadly that probably will be the case, but here is hoping). Alluring: maybe. Sex object: no. If anything she is certainly to be comic relief.

One of the reasons she is my favorite female villains is that she is funny and charismatic. She really does try to get a laugh out of people just like the Joker. Keeping her playful will certainly make her first movie debut a success. What do you guys think? Did I leave anything out? Leave them in the comments.

Think Harley Quinn will be one of the characters everyone talks about?
