A few days ago the director Sam Mendes has revealed the title of the new 007 film that he will direct for the second time, 'Spectre', and the protagonist will be, for the fourth time, Daniel Craig.
But what it makes me proud, 'cause I'm italian, is the participation in the cast of Monica Bellucci who, after Daniela Bianchi (1963), Luciana Paluzzi (1965), Maria Grazia Cucinotta (1999) and Caterina Murino (2006), will be the fifth Italian woman to join the list of the amazing Bond Girls.
And we absolutely love the Bond Girls, all of them. They can be victims rescued by Bond, or his partners, or members of enemy organizations, and we really adore them because we identify a little in each of them or because we want to be beautiful like them.
My favorite is, at the moment, the swiss actress Ursula Andress, perhaps because, a part from her indisputable charm, she was the first Bond Girl I met on the screen.
Recently, I was fascinated from the interpretations of Eva Green and Halle Berry and now I'm really curious to see Monica Bellucci because her beauty, ladies and gentlemen, is 50 years old and she is a masterpiece of woman...one of the most beautiful and sexi women never seen on the screen. For me, her refinement is incomparable, perfect face, dark eyes, very intense gaze, pronounced cheekbones, full lips, curvy body that seems, when she moves, a Goddess...yes, she is perfect for this role.
In Hollywood you have known her when she played in the saga of The Matrix.
She grew up in a small town of Perugia, moved from one of Europe's fashion centres, Milano, to France, she begins to work as a fashion model to pay her studies. But, early, she completely dedicates herself to catwalk working also for Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi.
She was immortalized in famous calendars including Pirelli, MAX magazine and GQ. He earned important covers as the French magazine Elle and Vogue. She was testimonial of important products including the perfume "Sicily" by Dolce & Gabbana, Intimissimi, for the jewelry line "Delices" of Cartier and for Dior in the line of lipsticks, handbags and accessories.
Her film career began in the early nineties debuting in important Italian films. But, very quickly, she makes her first appearance in an international film Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (directed by Francis Ford Coppola) in the role of one of the three concubines of Count Dracula.
Her popularity increases in 2000. I want to remember some of the great international movies to which she took part. Next to Gene Hackman and Morgan Freeman she plays in the thriller "Under Suspicion", directed by Stephen Hopkins. Immediately following she is the protagonist of "Malena" by Giuseppe Tornatore, a role with which becomes popular with worldwide audiences. In 2002 she plays, with Vincent Cassel, (her ex-husband) in the Gaspar Noé's movie "Irreversible". Then, she becomes "Persephone" in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, a role for which the Empire magazine selects her as twenty-first on their list of "The Sexiest 25 Characters in Cinema - The Women". Furthermore, she is Mary Magdalene in "The Passion of the Christ" directed by Mel Gibson, a terrible witch in "The Brothers Grimm" directed by Terry Gilliam, and she takes part in the film "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", produced by Walt Disney Pictures.
And now, at 50 years old, Monica becomes the oldest Bond girl, a title that was formerly held by Honor Blackman, who was 39-years-old when she played Pussy Galore.
Can't wait to see her hoping she has an important role in this 007 which is due to open in UK cinemas on 23 October and in the US on 6 November next year.
