A few months back, we reported that David S. Goyer (Man Of Steel) was developing another TV based comic book show for DC Entertainment. Following in the steps of Bruno Heller's Gotham, the show was to be entitled Krypton and was to focus on the origin story of Superman.

Well, now it seems as though that show is indeed moving forward on SyFy. Goyer is being sought to develop the new show, which is being described as follows: Krypton takes place years before the Superman legend we know, when the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This drama, which is in development, follows the Man of Steel's grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.

FlashForward scribe Ian Goldberg will pen the script, and executive produce alongside Goyer. The story was conceived by both Goyer and Goldberg.

For Syfy, Krypton arrives as the cabler is making a massive push back to its BattlestarGalactica sci-fi roots with scripted originals including Dominion, Ascension, 12 Monkeys, Olympus, Z Nation, The Expanse, Childhood's End, Hunters, Dark Matterand 3001: The Final Odyssey.

Will you be watching Krypton, or are the airwaves becoming a little too saturated with comic book based TV shows for your liking?
