When it comes to Guardians of the Galaxy, it's hard to see too many ways that you could possibly improve the thing. After all, it's a Marvel movie, set in space, with Chris Pratt as a sort of proto-Han Solo, Bradley Cooper as a talking raccoon, and freakin' Groot.

I mean, what's not to love?

There are, though, a whole bunch of ways in which the movie could have turned out very differently - and one in particular has recently come to light in the best way possible: through the medium of stunningly beautiful concept art.

Created by Arnaud Valette, the artwork shows a very different version of the striking scene in which Star-Lord, having grabbed the Infinity Gem from Ronan, finds himself in a strange cosmic realm, where he sees a vision of his mother, and gains the strength to save the day.

In Valette's concept art, though...

Instead of This...

We See an Epic Star System

With Star-Lord's mother at its center.

Similarly...

Instead of a Very Real-Seeming Mother...

We See Something Far More Ethereal

And almost spiritual...

With, as its backdrop...

Instead of the World Ending...

We See the Galaxy in All its True Beauty

Which is...actually pretty darned spectacular.

Now, if you're anything like me, you're most likely keen to check out exactly how it compares to the scene itself - which, conveniently, can be found just below...

The big question now, though? What do you guys think?

Which Guardians ending do you like more?
