Welcome to Kyrat! Check out our ultimate guide to all things Far Cry 4 on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. We have cheats, tips, videos, secrets, the endings, co-op and even more areas covered!
Ubisoft has had a really unusual year in 2014. They ended it so poorly with the likes of the horrendous, The Crew and the unfinished, bland Assassin's Creed Unity. But throughout the year, they've shown us how incredible the imaginations that seem to be hidden away in their offices can be.
It's been their smaller titles that have blown us away this year, with the likes of Valiant hearts: The Great War, South Park: The Stick of Truth (producing) and Child of Light. Their former and latter titles are two of the best games of the year, and show how indie titles can contain more power and innovation than any blockbuster we are likely to see from Ubisoft.
But taking their great indie titles out of the mix, there is one game that stands head and shoulders above everything else: Far Cry 4. It may feel like Far Cry 3 with a new coating on top of it, even down to its protagonist who is basically Jason Brody. But as you explore, you realise that Kyrat is a far more insane place to spend your time.
The graphics are stunning, the wildlife is insane and seriously threatening and its world is packed with so much insanity that I have seriously enjoyed just driving around it for hours after the credits rolled. But enough of that, let's get into this guide, starting with some appreciation of the game and it's insane videos!
Far Cry 4 - Ultimate Guide to Ubisoft's Kyrat
First one up, we've got the swim glitch, oh yes! This little beauty shows off how Far Cry 4 is actually one of the few games that is enhanced by its glitches. The world is so chaotic and off-the-wall that seeing someone swim around in the middle of the air is totally normal. And of course, we love it!
The video above is one of my favourites for Far Cry 4. It could be that I'm Irish and I find the Irish guy insanely funny, but I think you can have a lot of fun with these guys. It showcases how enjoyable Kyrat's world can be when another player joins the mix. All of the explosions become cooler, every attack by an animal is hilarious and moments when you just screw things up are the greatest!
The above clip shows off how unruly the animals in Far Cry 4 can be. You obviously can't pull out a weapon when you're in the camps where the games main characters are hanging out, so this elephant thought he'd fill the void. Amita gets a bit of a shock here, but that distance she covered!! Dayum.
Last but not least, before we continue we should understand the virtues of driving safely when traversing Kyrat. This enemy's behaviour is simply unacceptable and the player is sure to remind him that we will not tolerate any of such rambunctious behaviour!
Secret Endings (SPOILERS)
Naturally, skip this section if you just want to get to the cheats and stuff! If you've been following Far Cry 4 for a while, you probably know about the many different kind of endings that Ubisoft attached to the game. Some of them aren't all that different, but there are some pretty awesome ones too.
The fist one takes place at the outset of the game. You are instructed by Pagan Min to wait for his return after he goes to ensure the torture of one of the Golden Path members. If you do in fact stay in the room until he returns (naturally you just escape normally), he comes back and sits down in the room and the game actually ends! You don't go on any killing sprees, you merely sit there, spread your mother's ashes and leave it at that. Check out the video below where the player finishes the game in under 15 minutes.
The game also has a few decisions along the way, that decide whether you want to team up with Sabal and his backward ways, or Amita and her obscured look of the future of the country. It's a tough choice but they both become strangely authoritarian once you help either one gain power of the Golden Path.
They send you out on a mission to kill the other character, you can then choose to shoot, say Amita, or just don't fire and she leaves Kyrat never to be seen again. But once you get to Pagan Min, things get a bit interesting. Once you confront him in his dining room, you can shoot him straight in the face and the game ends, or hear him out and let him fly away in his chopper after revealing some interesting info. You can also choose to shoot this chopper down and loot Pagan's body for a lot of cash and his gold pen, so check it out below!
Infinite Karma and Money: Far Cry 4 doesn't have straight up cheat codes (cause everyone apart from Rockstar suck in this department) but we still have some ways that you can uncover some great ways to gain insane power.
Travel to the Clouded Leopard marker on your map that is southwest from the Kyra Tea Factory location, and just across the river. This area can be accessed at the start of the game. It is recommended to use the Recurve Bow, but you can use any bow or weapon. However, you are rewarded with double skins for each kill when using a bow.
Throw bait down from the hill, then shoot the Clouded Leopard in the head. Repeat this process until you are out of bait. Then, go down to skin the animals to refill your bait. Repeat this process as many times as desired. Clouded Leopard skins sell for 16,000 rupees each. It is recommended to upgrade the bait bag first to make the process quicker. You can easily earn 500,000 rupees approximately every ten minutes.
Infinite Xp: Enter the "Shanath Training Ground" outpost from the east. Immediately when you enter the outpost, you will see a heavy armored enemy patrolling the bridge. Kill the heavy armord enemy with C4 to get 240 XP. Then, kill the two tigers below, and skin them as quickly as possible (the tiger skins can be sold for 7,000 rupees each). Once you are finished skinning the tigers, pause the game and save, then intentionally die.
You will spawn around 320m away from the outpost with the XP you got from the enemies and the skins you got from the tigers. Run back to the outpost, and repeat the process. When you die again, you will respawn next to the outpost. Repeat this process until you can obtain the "Heavy Takedown" skill. Then, instead of killing the heavy armoured enemy with C4, sneak up on him, and kill him with the "Heavy Takedown" skill to get 400 XP per kill. Repeat this process as many times as desired.
Next way: First, successfully complete the game, and unlock the "Death From Above" and "Heavy Takedown" skills in the Tiger path, to easily earn an infinite amount of XP in Pagan Min's fortress located in northern Kyrat.
Once the fortress is weakened, sneak through the front doors by using the steps to the left of the main gate and taking down the heavy soldier. Cross the wooden bridge, kill the rooftop soldier, and use the Death From Above takedown on the remaining heavy soldier. Once they have all been defeated, pause the game, and select the "Save" option. Then, allow the remaining snipers and soldiers to kill you. Throw C4, grenades, or fire rockets at your feet to speed up the process. You will respawn right outside the fortress' front doors. Repeat this process as many times as desired to earn an unlimited amount of XP to unlock the remaining skills.
There was a method for obtaining an endless amount of money, though unfortunately it has been patched and the game no longer has this option available. If we learn of anything new, we'll be sure to let you know.
So that's it from us here! I hope the article helped you realise just how great Ubisoft's Far Cry 4 can be. There's a whole lot to do in Kyrat and it's all well worth your time and effort! Happy gaming!
