SIKE, WE'RE TOTALLY READY. And all we have to hold off our appetites are pictures, videos and endless forums of skepticism.

10 years have passed since the last release of the prequel trilogy, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. 32 years following the Return of the Jedi of the original series. In this upcoming year that we are all eagerly anticipating marks the year Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams. There are so many rumors and speculation about the movie, but with official trailers coming out and confirmations standing true. We can look forward to the things that we know for sure.

Here are just some of the things I'm looking forward to finding out in the latest film Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens, not to mention all the action and plot twists I'm mentally preparing myself for. I have high hopes that J.J. Abrams will bring his quality work to the big screen especially with a hugely anticipated film with a galaxy wide fan base.

1. Overall Production and Direction

I'm a huge fan of J.J. Abrams recent works with Star Trek. The production, animation and direction of both Star Trek and [Star Trek Into Darkness](movie:37722) were phenomenal. That reboot didn't make it cheesy or hard to watch, rather it was a bit nostalgic and heavily entertaining. If thats any indication to the production value of this latest Star Wars film, we're in store for some intense action and adventure! J.J. Abrams seems to have the vision and is able to deliver, he's in a good spot to knock this one out of the park.

2. New Droids and..

Woah. When that trailer came out and you saw this guy rolling across the screen, were you not like ...

BB-8 is real, not CGI. That was an awesome reveal by Mark Hamill, seeing as this is an actual prop robot! On top of that, Carina from MoviePilot, also noted some other real props. It's awesome to see the production, development and engineering behind the scenes of the new Star Wars film. The efforts put into it definitely are not overshadowed and seeing these new reveals makes me wonder what else in the film will I be fooled by.

Never assume it is CGI, until proven CGI.

3. New Lightsabers and characters

Light sabers were always one of the coolest weapons and now they went through some redesign, showing off this new crossguard lightsaber. Sure, the original design was traditional but it'd be curious to see if they will be used differently and if it will have any unannounced purpose. It is 30 years after the ROTJ, so we'll be learning what has changed since then.

Also, who is Kylo Ren!? Not to mention a handful of other new characters including Finn, Rey, Poe Dameron, and BB-8. These unanswered questions can only make you wonder what's new to come to the Star Wars universe.

4. and more new stuff.. STORM TROOPERS!

Storm Troopers have always been one of the defining characters of the film. Could these be new Storm Trooper's replace the the previous ones? Or are they a new addition since the 30 years? So little is known about these new Storm Troopers that they add a level of mysteriousness to what is already a very concealed and secretive production of Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens. We'll have to stay tuned for what this new design means for the film.

5. Harrison Ford

Ford is incredibly awesome. He's is definitely one of my favorite actors and to hear that he is coming back as the one and only, Han Solo, makes it that much more exciting. Filming an action at 72 years old must be a wild lifestyle, especially hearing about his injuries on set. Regardless, he bounced back to do his thing! The character of Han Solo is so likable, chill, laid back sorta feel and realistic but maybe thats just the Harrison Ford effect. Excited to see how his role and character will play out in the latest movie. What will be the fate of Han Solo?!

There's so many more things to keep up with up until the release of [Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens](movie:711158), expected December 18, 2015. Until then, mark your calendars if you haven't already!
