Uncharted 4 has yet to receive a release date for the PS4, we simply have the rough 2015 number to go with. Here's hoping it won't be next Christmas! But after coming off of the insane success of The Last of Us, what will Naughty Dog by infusing Uncharted 4 with from Ellie and Joel's adventure?
Uncharted 4 finally got its gameplay trailer at the Playstation Experience, with a lot of fans feeling quite underwhelmed by what they were presented with. First off, fans were not happy that Naughty Dog followed the recent trend of having their game not look as great as it did at E3, but then what we saw at E3 was a cinematic trailer, and it was also at night and Drake was soaked so you're going to get a lot more sheen on the characters.
The gameplay itself doesn't appear to be wildly different from the previous titles, and the area that the game is set in doesn't offer us a new landscape like Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 did before it. All this being said though, I'm still terribly excited for this game. After all, it's Naughty Dog! But what will they be carrying over from The Last of Us into Uncharted 4?
Uncharted 4 & The Last of Us on PS4
The Last of Us has made the move over to NextGen, now it just has to wait for its older brother to join it on the PS4. The two franchises are wildly different from one another. Uncharted is everything you've ever wanted from a Blockbuster film in game form. The Last of Us was a far more personal, dark and artistic game, so would transferring characteristics from it to Uncharted 4 work?

I for one certainly don't want to see the darkness of The Last of Us in Uncharted 4. It's lighthearted nature is what the fans love, and while I'm all for exploring the past of Nathan Drake, diving into a dark character study may hamper the conclusion to the Uncharted series.
Will Nathan Drake and his brother be like Joel and Ellie? Will they have a very close relationship, leading to tension as Drake must make tough decisions for the ones that he loves? Or will they simply be just banter-full lads joking with one another every step of the way? I sincerely hope it's the latter!
Uncharted 4 better have a good story. It has some serious competition from The last of Us to excel in its narrative department. I highly doubt it can get that personal or engaging though, Uncharted is mostly about fun and exploration. It looks like it's more than likely going to centre on the pirate Henry Every, but let's hope Naughty Dog can pull out an intriguing campaign like they did with Uncharted 2!
