Director Ridely Scott, who directed the 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner, has told MTV News that the script for the highly anticipated sequel is written and ready to go. In addition, the director has confirmed that previous Blade Runner star Harrison Ford loves the script and is totally on board for the upcoming sequel.

I sent him this [script], and he said it’s the best thing he’s ever read. It’s very relevant to what happened in the first one. I'm not just doing a sequel with lots of action and see how far we can go with the special effects, because you can't really. [With] Blade Runner we kind of landed on a somehow very credible future. And it's very difficult to change that because it's been so influential with everything else.

The Exodus: Gods and Kings director added that he is currently unsure whether he would helm Blade Runner's sequel.

In any case, it sure is nice to hear something so positive from Harrison Ford on the film's script. Honestly, they couldn't do a sequel to Blade Runner without him. Here's hoping Ridley Scott will once again get behind the camera.

More info as it becomes available!
