To avoid fainting, keep repeating 'It's only a movie...It's only a movie...'

As a general rule, I trust a director to present their movie in the best, most watchable and well-paced way. Still, that doesn't mean it's not fascinating to see the deleted scenes that didn't make it to the final cut.

These often provide insights into the filming process, different storylines that were never followed up on, or incidents that couldn't be fitted into the movie as a whole.

Check out 5 deleted scenes from awesome horror movies!

1. The Amityville Horror (2005)

Random Fact: This scene is all the creepier because it's based on real life. Missy Lutz - the little girl played by a very young Chloe Moretz - really did report having a demonic pig 'friend' called Jodie during her stay in the Amityville house.

2. Child's Play 3 (1991)

Random Fact: Actor Justin Whalin replaced Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay in Child's Play 3 only. The original Andy, Alex Vincent, actually reappears in the most recent installment of the franchise, Curse of Chucky in 2013.

3. Jacob's Ladder (1990)

Random Fact: Tim Robbins may be the iconic face of Adrian Lyne's masterful psych-horror, but Tom Hanks was the director's original choice.

4. Afflicted (2014)

Random Fact: Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that there's actually an additional scene at the end of the credit sequence for Afflicted, a move that's somewhat unusual for a horror picture.

5. Let Me In (2010)

Random Fact: there's an odd recurring theme throughout Let Me In - the candy Now and Later. Characters are repeatedly seen eating the candy, singing the commercial jingle and passing notes written on wrappers.
