Fallout 4 and Half-Life 3. Two of the most wanted games in gaming history. Valve and Bethesda have continued to equal one another in terms of silence regarding news, rumors or a release date for the PC, Xbox One or PS4. But if you had to pick one, which game would YOU want released?
These two titles have gained a reputation within the gaming world. They are titles that represent torment, silence and ridicule. We've all seen our fair share of memes surrounding Half-Life 3 and Fallout 4, their release has become a thing of legend, and basically a joke within the community. But I'm dying to know, if presented with the choice...would you pick Half-Life 3, or Fallout 4?
Valve's Half-Life 3 vs Bethesda's Fallout 4
Need I even spell out why this would be a candidate worth choosing? It's been over 7 years since Valve left us hanging. Since that faithful day where we all sat there in silence as we witnessed Alix mourning the loss of her father, only for our screens to fade to black. This cliffhanger would have felt a thousand times worse had we known at that time that Valve would still have us waiting this many years later.
Half-Life 2 defines what a great FPS should be about, and lord knows we need a great FPS for our NextGen consoles. The PS4 and Xbox One are lacking in this department, and in fact there really hasn't been a tremendously great FPS since Bioshock (though Infinite was amazing).
Naturally, we want to see Gordon Freeman return, and have him save our new consoles. But if presented with the choice, would you still choose this game over returning to Bethesda's incredibly deep Fallout landscape?

Fallout 3 was so incredible, that when an essential copy of the game, Fallout: New Vegas, was taken on by a separate developer, there was so much to draw from that the title was still excellent. It didn't reach the heights of Bethesda's achievements with the series in my opinion, though still a fine game.
Despite its great nature, it felt as if we received a really great expansion pack for Fallout 3, when what we really want is Fallout 4. We want Bethesda to take the series to somewhere we'd never thought possible, like the did with 3. They are experts at crafting games that allow the player to conjure up their own experience within the worlds they create, and we long to return to this barren wasteland.
But would you really pick it over Half-Life 3? Is Fallout 4 the game you'd pick to have a release date? Let us know in the comments!
