It may have been several years since the last Harry Potter book or movie was released, but the wonderful wizarding world is still very much alive.

We discovered a lot of cool Potter-licious things in 2014, but these were probably the most surprising of the year...

Out of all of the wonderful characters J.K. Rowling mercilessly bumped off, there's only one she regrets killing. Not Hedwig, not Dobby, not Sirius, Snape or even Dumbledore...

5. We're getting more Harry Potter magic?

J.K. Rowling caused internet uproar with her mystery tweet:

Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won’t tolerate this nonsense.

Which is an anagram for:

Harry returns! Won't say any details now. A week off. No comment

However, it was later revealed that she intended the tweet to be a little hint about Newt Scamander's adventures in the upcoming HP-related trilogy Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. You had us going there, JK...
