Yes this looks historical no matter how made up it is! This is the most expensive Chinese language film ever made in China with a 65 million (US) dollar budget. It stars not only Jackie Chan, but John Cusack and Adrian Brody! But first Merry Christmas from John Cusack and Jackie Chan.
Not only does Jackie Chan look like a tourist at Disney World with a great rendition of "We wish you a Merry Christmas" but he brought us a present too! The new trailer for Dragon Blade! The upcoming historical action film written and directed by Daniel Lee.
Although inspired by the story of a legion of Roman soldiers that got lost and found its way into China. That's about where the facts end because Tiberius (Adrian Brody) never went to China but who cares Moses wasn't from Wales either.
Set in 48BC, “Dragon Blade” revolves around Huo An (Chan), a Chinese commander who is tasked with protecting China’s Western borders during the Han dynasty. Meanwhile Cusack’s General Lucius is leading 1,000 soldiers into China during the time of the Han Dynasty, and Tiberius and his legions are coming after him. That's when he decides to take over the "Silk Road" China's main land trade route to the west. Even though it wasn't called that during the Han dynasty but hey I wasn't alive then. I'm just excited to see Gladiators and Ninjas fighting each other ( I know wrong again). Here just check out the trailer.
Looks like Mister Brody not only chewed but devoured the scenery!
“Dragon Blade” also stars K-pop boy band Super Junior’s Choi Si-won, along with Chinese actresses Lin Peng and Wang Ruoxin.
It's set open on New Year's Day in China ( February 19th is the first day of the year of the goat in China), Unfortunately I can't find a release date for the US, where most people don't care about history just watching good battle match ups!
