As if doing a porno wasn't enough to disgrace himself, Dustin Diamond, who played Screech in Saved by the Bell, has committed a seasonal stabbing to further sink his already struggling reputation.
The altercation in question took place on Christmas Day and Diamond claims that the stabbing occurred after a fight broke out at the Grand Avenue Saloon Bar in Port Washington, Wisconsin between his 27-year-old fiancée, Amanda Schutz, and two unnamed men and a woman.
Diamond told police that he accidentally stabbed one of the men involved while trying to defend his fiancée. Although the man was not seriously injured, police officers retrieved a switchblade from the scene of the crime.
37-year-old Diamond told officers he leapt to his fiancée, Amanda Schutz's defence when he saw that two guys had grabbed her by the hair.
After being arrested, Diamond admitted that he had received the switchblade as a gift that day and that he owns a collection of knives.
After spending a festive weekend in jail under $10,000 bail, the '90s star appeared in court accused with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon on Monday.
The Saved by the Bell actor's defense attorney told the press that Diamond:
Has complete faith in the justice system
The next court hearing for this case is due on January 5.
