Emily Blunt the English actress known for her roles in The Devil Wears Prada (2006), The Young Victoria (2009), The Adjustment Bureau (2011), Looper (2012), Edge of Tomorrow (2014), and Into the Woods (2014) has revealed in an interview to "Vulture" that she turned down two major roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but has denied that she has been offered the chance to play Captain Marvel.
The Bafta and Golden Globe award winner told that “No one's offered me that officially,so it's... very unofficial. I think it's fan-casting, which is always very nice. But nothing official has been offered, for sure. If I get it, thank Meryl Streep for it!”.But she confirmed that she was approached for roles in the Marvel cinematic universe and that she had a concrete offer to play Black Widow and Peggy Carter.
“It was never the right time, really,” explains the actress, “and it just didn't work out scheduling-wise with those two.”
“It's always a difficult thing to talk about, because it's not fair to the actresses who ended up playing them, you know? It just wasn't the right time.”
