1. The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 are both good films:
Despite what some people would have you believe, both films have been received well by critics & audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes the first film has a 73% from critics, and a 77% from the audience. The second film has a 53% from critics, and a 67% from the audience. Being able to gain the approval of over half the critics as well as the audience means it's a well received film.
2. Both Financial Successes:
Here's another fact some people like to skew, both of TASM films are Box Office Successes. Both have had a budget of around $200 million and made over $700 million worldwide. And I must ask; why is it when Marvel Studios makes a film like The Winter Soldier with a budget of $170 million and it makes over $700 million, it's considered a huge hit? But when Sony makes a Spider-Man film like that it's a complete failure? I'm sorry, but even when you add in extra cost like marketing, that makes no sense. Sony as a company might not make a profit, but Spider-Man films absolutely make a profit.
3. You Have The Perfect Spider-Man:
If Sony re-casts Garfield they're making a huge mistake, he has embodied everything that Spider-Man stands for. As long as Sony makes Spider-Man films with Andrew Garfield people will keep seeing and enjoying the films. And if Marvel ever gets the rights to Spidey back they'd be fools to re-cast the role as well.
4. You Have The Perfect Aunt May:
Whoever cast Sally Field as Aunt May struck gold. She's absolutely right for the role, if you go back and watch every scene with her you'll be truly amazed. We need to see her on the screen again.
5. A Chance For A Brilliant 3rd Chapter:
[The Amazing Spider-Man 3](movie:671279) has the chance to be the greatest 3rd act of all time just on the fact that it would be doing what no other superhero film has done: it would have the hero dealing with the death of his true love (not just glossing over it) and at the same time Peter would have to deal with The [Sinister Six](movie:1274281) (first time one hero would be facing 6 different villains) and everything else going on in his life. We'd be seeing Peter Parker/Spider-Man at his most vulnerable, and that is an opportunity that should not be missed.
