Created by author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in 1887, Sherlock Holmes has been a staple of the cinema for over 100 years (first screen appearance was in the 1900 film, SHERLOCK HOLMES BAFFLED).

Guinness World's Records lists the character as the "most portrayed movie character" with over 70 actors taking on the role. 2015 will see yet another iteration of the character on the big screen when Sir Ian McKellen portrays the aging detective in MR. HOLMES.

With so many portrayals of the super sleuth to choose from, which has been your favorite screen version of Sherlock Holmes?
