Friends, the '90s sitcom that follows six 20-somethings facing hilarious obstacles around New York and Central Perk is back! Well kinda...all 10 seasons are now available on the streaming service known as Netflix. What better way to start off the New Year than binge watching the greatest sitcom ever! (Not much) However, this all gets us wondering: what have the Friends stars been up to since the show ended over a decade age?
Chandler Bing a.k.a. Matthew Perry
Matthew Perry hasn't really done anything successful since Friends. He had minor roles on shows and in movies that weren't widely popular. He appeared, as most of his costars have, on Courtney Cox's Cougar Town and had a recurring role on The Good Wife. He starred in the sports sitcom Go On, however it was canceled after only one season.
Joey Tribbiani a.k.a. Matt LeBlanc
Matt went on to star in his own, yet rather unsuccessful, Friends spinoff titled Joey. He then had a recurring role on Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow's television show Web Therapy. He now stars in the long running successful show Episodes in which he plays himself.
Monica Bing a.k.a. Courteney Cox
Courtney is the star of the long running Cougar Town. She was also in the Adam Sandler movie Bedtime Stories and has guest starred on Web Therapy and Go On. She had a leading role on the short lived Dirt, played a doctor on Scrubs for several episodes, and has appeared in quite a few movies.
Dr. Ross Geller a.k.a. David Schwimmer
David's live action roles after Friends is, well, a bit sad. He played the title role in a movie no one heard about, played a random soldier in a space epic, handed a man a beer, guest starred on Kudrow's Web Therapy, and did other low key projects. However he gave his voice to the most lovable Giraffe of our generation, Melman in all three Madagascars and associated work, for which we can all be thankful. He will also be playing a large role in the upcoming series American Crime Show Story.
Phoebe Buffay a.k.a. Lisa Kudrow
Lisa Kudrow, as mentioned in her co-stars' portions, is the star of the long running show Web Therapy. Starting in 2008 each episode of Web Therapy was only 5 minutes long, however after great success in 2011 it became a full fledged TV sitcom and continues to produce episodes to this day. However, Web Therapy isn't the only credit to this star's name. After Friends, Kudrow went on to star in the show The Comeback from 2005-2014, had a recurring role on Scandal, appeared in the 2014 blockbuster The Neighbors, has had large roles in more than a dozen movies, appeared on Friends co-star Courteney Cox's Cougar Town, and has guest starred in a few television shows.
Rachel Greene a.k.a. Jennifer Aniston
Aniston was easily the biggest name before, during, and after Friends. She has had roles in nearly 20 films since the end of Friends, including The Switch, We're the Millers, Wanderlust, Marley & Me, and more. She also guest starred on many of her co-stars' shows and has been a hot topic in tabloids (but usually in a good way!). Also, an interesting tidbit of knowledge: if you type "Jennifer" into google Aniston is second on the list right behind Lawrence, but beating out Lopez.
It's been a while since we've seen some of our best friends and finally, thanks to Netflix, we can enjoy all the laughs of Friends once again!
