Mystic Falls has a formidable death toll, but what happens to the actors who played our favorite characters in their Vampire Diaries afterlife?
If you've been pondering what Lexi has been up to or are desperate to know where you can see Mason Lockwood again, look no further!
Have a look through my handy list to see what some of the dearly departed Vampire Diaries staples have been doing with their careers so far.
Claire Holt (Rebbekah Mikaelson)
We haven't seen much of Claire Holt since she left The Vampire Diaries and [The Originals](series:833141), but that doesn't mean she doesn't have a promising career simmering away on the back burner. She's only been gone for one hot minute after all!
Look our for Holt alongside David Duchovny (best known as special agent Fox Mulder of The X-Files fame) in the upcoming TV drama series Aquarius. Holt plays Charmain Tully and the series centres around an undercover cop who has infiltrated a hippy community that will eventually lead him to serial killer, Charles Manson.
Holt is also rumored to be in the runnings to play Supergirl in an upcoming CBS series so fans should keep their fingers crossed!
Arielle Kebbel (Lexi Branson)
Although she has made a few appearances as a ghost since her death, fan-favorite Lexi officially bit the dust in season one of [The Vampire Diaries](series:200853).
Since then, Arielle Kebbel has appeared in a large number of TV shows as both a guest and a series regular.
Kebbel's most notable TV roles are as Paige in Life Unexpected (2011) and Vanessa Shaw in 90210 (2012-13), but she has also emerged onto the big screen.
If you want to see some feature length Kebbel action look out for titles such as 2012's Think Like A Man or Supporting Characters.
Jasmine Guy (Sheila Bennett)
Most of Jasmine Guys acting career actually happened before her stint as Sheila Bennett in The Vampire Diaries, but she has popped up in a couple of places since Grams death.
Look out for Guy in Scary Movie 5 and the romantic comedy Big Stone Gap.
Sara Canning (Jenna Sommers)
After Jenna's death at the hands of Klaus during season 2, Sara Canning has popped up in numerous places.
Canning was nominated for a Leo award for best actress for her performance in the starring role of the TV movie Hannah's Law in 2012 and scooped a best actor prize for her role as Dr, Melissa Conner in Remedy.
Kayla Ewell (Vicki Donovan)
After Vicki was staked during season one, she has made a few infrequent guest appearances on The Vampire Diaries as well as showing up elsewhere.
Most of Kayla Ewell's appearances after The Vampire Diaries have been in TV movies such as Keeping Up with the Randalls, Shuffelton’s Barbershop and Where Fate Meets.
Taylor Kinney (Mason Lockwood)
Although Mason Lockwood wasn't in too many episodes of The Vampire Diaries, his handsome visage made a sizable impression!
If you want your Taylor Kinney fix, look no further than Zero Dark Thirty where he sinks his teeth into the role of a U.S Navy Seal named Jared.
The actor is clearly attracted to heroic types because his other most notable role is as Lieutenant Kelly Severide in Chicago Fire and Chicago PD.
