In my opinion, the hobbit (should I capitalize that?) desolation of Smaug was the best of the trilogy. In my personal opinion, the fact that they stretched the book into three parts was a good idea, contrary to popular belief. As I stated before, 2 was the best of the trilogy, however, 1 was close second. Other than the obvious fact that there was to much of a cliffhanger element, the trilogy was quite good. But you are evidently reading this and saying: WTF??? I thought this was a review... not a garbage rant. Yeah, well hold on a minute, cuz I'm not done ranting.

Yeah, actually i am.

Well, the whole big bad guy in the book was Smaug. Now, its been a while, so I don't necessarily remember, but I don't think that there was even that huge of a battle at the end. Hold on, I'm gonna do an internet. Yeah, nevermind. Well, crossing that of my list of things to talk about. Okay, try number 2. Almost the ENTIRE movie was the same battle. About 2 hours of massive bloodshed and yelling. Not a lot of dialogue happened in 2 hours, but I'm not necessarily complaining. If you are like me, and you don't care what goes down, as long as it's in middle earth, this movie is for you. One little (tiny) detail that I would have liked to see would have been a little Frodo cameo of some sort or another. The last thing that I want to mention is... Legolas spin-off??? Think about it.

In one of the last scenes, Legolas tells his father he is leaving, and his dad tells him to go look for the man we know as Aragorn... maybe???

One has to wish.
