This week, Star Wars fan site MakingStarWars shared some insider info on the first franchise spin-off film - and for fans of a certain scoundrel, it's huge.
... today’s information comes from a friend that did give us legit Star Wars: The Force Awakens set photos and more.
A code name for the production is:
"Luminac Industrial Goods"
They go on to say there’s going to be a really interesting situation at Pinewood Studios:
"The filming will eventually overlap with some of Star Wars: Episode VIII."
Who are they hearing the film is about?
There's been some talk of an ensemble film of either bounty hunters (which is where the previous rumors of a Boba Fett flick came from) or "pirates" on the rumor mill for months, so seeing a young Han Solo as part of a team of space pirates would be super cool.
But wait, there's more! According to their sources, Aaron Paul is interested in working on the movie in some way. If you didn't catch it, the actor recently took on the role of Luke Skywalker in an Empire Strikes Back live read, so he's definitely familiar with the films.
A lot of people have been quick to cast him as our favorite scruffy-looking nerfherder, but with talk of an ensemble film and my hopes that we'll see even more 'elements' from the Expanded Universe (Inquisitors are still around, and characters like Asajj Ventress are coming back in novels, comics, and other media formats in the new canon) my pick for Aaron Paul's alleged role would be someone like - if not precisely - Dash Rendar.
Dash was Han's good friend, and the star of the Shadows of the Empire storyline back in the day. I would love to see his character come back to canon and have his hayday on the big screen, and Aaron Paul has just the right attitude for it.
