As many fans of the Resident Evil series may already know, the original, classic 1996 Resident Evil video game received what some may consider to be an infamous remake back in 2002, on the Nintendo GameCube. As many R.E. fans will also know, Capcom is currently in the process of remaking/remastering the 2002 remake, which will be released on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 on January 20th this year.

Now, although there's not an astounding difference in graphics between the PS4 remaster and the 2002 GameCube remake, you can still definitely tell the difference. This is one remake that I wouldn't say needed to be done just yet, but then again, I don't know anyone who still owns a GameCube. For those of us lucky enough to own an Xbox One or PlayStation 4, we can play the game in 1080p, whereas PS3 and Xbox 360 will be in 720p.

Once the game has been released on January 20th, you'll be able to pick it up for the sweet price of $20. In addition to this HD remake, Resident Evil: Revelations Part 2 is set to be released this year, and there have also been rumors regarding the making of Resident Evil 7 - let's hope it'll be better than parts 5 and 6!

Will YOU be checking out the HD Resident Evil remake?
