It's no surprise that reddit user Manatee94 is getting calls to go professional with her outlandish and convincing face make-up. But what is shocking is just how long she has been working on her craft.
According to her post, she's only been playing around with make-up for about a year. I don't know about you, but this this looks like some seriously advanced work that makes me instantly wince in discomfort and a fair bit of fear (don't worry—I'm sure that was her intent).
Plus, according to her own account, jobs like this ONLY take about 30 minutes to an hour! That means in the time it takes to get ready for a date, she could pull off one of the wildest, freakiest make-up jobs for any unassuming suitor.
For the brave among us, scroll down to see some of the most impressively scary make-up work I've seen in a long time. You won't be disappointed (though, I can't make any promises for your subconscious)!
Ever since learning about the Angler Fish, I've stayed far, far away from wide-gaping mouths populated by sharp teeth. Okay, so I wasn't going to close to those BEFORE learning about Angler Fish, but now I'm sure to stay away. Well, throw a huge eyeball into the mix, and things are looking up! And by "up," I mean "crushingly terrifying with a hearty side of gross."
Just days after I get over those constant nightmares about my teeth falling out, I discover an image like this. Great news for faceless giant mouths that I've never thought about before: you now have a starring role in my bad dreams! Can't wait to see you alongside the The Corinthian from Neil Gaiman's The Sandman.
Okay, let's be real. Empty orifices on the face are universally scary. The idea of empty slots gives me the heebie-jeebies, and adding in these stray pieces of skin linking them together is giving me creepy Oogie Boogie vibes. WHY would skin be fusing together? Nevermind, I know I don't want the answer.
Twisty the Clown
I love that she paid tribute to by far the freakiest element of [American Horror Story](series:206668)'s latest season. Twisty the Clown was a welcome return to the scary clown trope, and Manatee94 pulls off the character with ease! Hopefully she's less inspired than Dandy to take up his behaviors in addition to his appearance.
WHERE IS YOUR NOSE? I know the beauty of make-up is all in the illusion, but, seriously, my mind cannot reason out how that is not actually a hollow crevice. I've never really found skeletons that frightening (a symptom of playing too much Skyrim), but seeing one on a three-dimensional phase is making me rethink my position.
And there you have it! Beautiful, refined nightmare fuel for at least a week. Hopefully, Manatee94 will continue posting her awesome creations for us to gawk over. What do you think about her work?
