Although most recently we've seen Guillermo del Toro flirting with insane over-the-top action, soon he will be returning to his forte with upcoming gothic horror, Crimson Peak.
The film, which stars Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunna, certainly sounds impressive, and now we've got some images which show it looks rather impressive too.
The images, which appeared in the latest edition of Empire Magazine, return to old school horror with some classic tropes - namely freaky mansion hallways and scared looking damsels holding candles. I don't know about you, but I'm getting a bit of a Poe/Lovecraft feeling from these, which isn't surprising consider del Toro is a big fan of both horror writers. Take a look below:

Crimson Peak is currently due in theaters on October 16, 2015.
